A general sewing course for all abilities. Make your own clothes, alterations and much more. We have a range of sewing machines and over lockers for enthusiastic sewers to use. The format is not a structured lesson but a supervised sewing bee.
This is a practical, general sewing course for all abilities.
The course aims to show you all aspects of sewing, including;
The class is taught by group and one-to-one contact between the student and tutor. Everyone works at their own speed
on projects of their own choice. The tutor is there to help and give advice.
The Arts and Crafts Centre has a variety of sewing machines available to use, but if you have your own you are welcome
to bring it along.
You will need to bring the following: (consultation on pattern and fabric with the tutor before the first session is available
on request)

Jeanette’s Grandmother was a professional needlewoman and taught Jeanette how to sew, as a child. Jeanette made her own wedding dress and makes many of her own clothes now. She has had her own small business, making ball gowns and alike. We’re very pleased she’s on our team!
